Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation/Mott Foundation – Evaluated a foundation-supported nonprofit research initiative and nonprofit sector research infrastructure overall; recommended strategies for strengthening sector research capacity.

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation/Lumina Foundation – Conducted feasibility assessment on potential merger of two grantee organizations.

Infrastructure Funders Group – Conducted research and made recommendations as to how this 25+-member foundation affinity group could collaboratively support a comprehensive mapping and assessment of the nonprofit/philanthropic infrastructure. Co-facilitated discussion and wrote the RFP for implementing the initiative. Collected and analyzed grantee and funder data to assess the financial health of members’ grantees in light of the pandemic and determine where support was most needed.

Goldman Sachs Foundation – Conducted evaluations of the foundation’s grantmaking and made recommendations for future program strategy in areas of social entrepreneurship, economic education, and college access.

JM Kaplan Fund – Evaluated the Fund’s eight-year immigration program and recommended future strategic direction.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation – Assessed an impact investing initiative and made recommendations for future support. Collected/analyzed research on Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes to evaluate their effects on innovation.
